Which US passport applications require printed photos, and when are they not needed?
Printed photos are required for paper-form applications, including first-time or child applications using Form DS-11 and mail-in renewals using Form DS-82. If you are eligible to renew online, upload a digital photo through the online application instead; you do not need to mail a printed photo for that online renewal flow.
Can I use this photo for a lost or damaged passport replacement?
Yes. Replacement passport applications require a passport photo that meets the current official requirements.
What if my passport photo is rejected?
If the rejection is caused by a technical error on PhotoOmni's side, such as incorrect dimensions, background, or positioning, we provide a free retake or full refund. If the issue comes from the original selfie, upload a new photo and generate another result. Human expert review before download helps identify these issues in advance.
